KIT combines the mission of a university with that of a large-scale research center of the Helmholtz Association. With 8000 employees and an annual budget of EUR 650 millions, KIT is one of the largest research and education institutions worldwide. The Telecooperation Office (TecO) of the KIT is a well-renowned research group in ubiquitous computing and wireless sensor networks. TecO has significant experience in the area of intelligent,context-aware sensing systems and middleware architectures for bridging between sensing systems and ERP systems.
In TIMBUS, the focus of KIT is on reasoning and learning for autonomy of digital preservation of business processes. To this end KIT will contribute formalisms and reasoning systems for dependency analysis, tools for capturing, and reasoning with, contextual information from sensing systems and tools for emulation of devices and sensors as services.
